To Confront English as A Language of Empire

My competence in English language is, of course, far from that of native English language speakers. But I don't think it is inferiority as an inherent competence in language. At the same time I don't think Japanese language is closer to internal existence or natural voices of mine. However I am far proficient in Japanese language more than English. I want to firmly deny such a point of view.

And there is a tendency which laughs about "ridiculous" words written in Japanese by non-native speakers. One may feel some kind of humorousness about those words, but such an attitude also contains significant mistakes. I think those "ridiculous" words are to be highly welcomed and willingly let in for diversification of Japanese language.

I think I learned a lot such things from authors who wrote in "ridiculous" English like William Burroughs. And I think Arundhati Roy is one of such authors who write "to confront English as a language of Empire"

I have an interest in language in general, and in Japanese and English language, in such a way.
